The Global Excellence Scholarship at the University of Western Australia

The Scholarship is an annual tuition fee discount for the normal full-time duration of the awardee’s course as specified in their letter of offer. The value of the Scholarship is determined by the applicant’s equivalent Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or UWA weighted average mark (WAM).

This significant master’s degree scholarship will be awarded to high-achieving postgraduate students, from selected countries, who apply for particular courses at the University.

  • Eligibility:
  1. To be eligible for the scholarship, a candidate must be applying for an eligible master’s degree (by coursework).
  2. A candidate must be one of the eligible countries on the list.

University of New South Wales International Scholarships

UNSW offers a wide range of master’s degree Scholarships and Awards to support International postgraduate coursework students commencing full-time study at UNSW.  The scholarships offered include the International Scientia Coursework Scholarship and the Australia’s Global University Award.

  • Eligibility:

To be eligible, applicants must be an international student commencing full-time study in a UNSW Undergraduate or Postgraduate coursework degree program (excluding PG online and UNSW Canberra).

For the International Scientia Coursework Scholarship, applicants will be assessed on the basis of academic merit, leadership skills (school, workplace or community), extra-curricular activities (sporting, cultural activities, volunteer/work experience) and reasons for undertaking studies at UNSW.

  • Amount:

International Scientia Coursework Scholarship: Full tuition fee or $20,000 per annum paid directly towards tuition fees for the minimum duration of program.

Australia’s Global University Award: 10,000 for 1 year. Payment will be made towards tuition fees in the student’s second term of the first year of study.

DAAD Helmut-Schmidt Master’s degree Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance

The DAAD Helmut-Schmidt-Programme Masters Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance Programme offers very good graduates from developing countries the chance to obtain a Master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance for the social, political and economic development of their home country at German institutions of higher education.

Eligibility:

Graduates from developing countries (bachelor or equivalent):

• with a well-qualified first university degree as a rule in the fields of social and political sciences, law, economics, public policy and administration
• willing to actively contribute to the social, political and economic development of their home countries/regions
• who have already gained practical experience relevant for the programme (professional experience, internships, political/social commitment

The requirements for language skills and the required language certificates vary depending on the respective master’s degree course.  All master’s courses have their own selection criteria (degree, grades, language skills, work experience, etc.) that have to be met in addition to the DAAD’s selection criteria.

  • Amount:

DAAD scholarship holders within the Helmut-Schmidt-Programme are exempted from tuition fees. DAAD pays a monthly master’s degree scholarship rate of currently 931 €. The scholarship also includes contributions to health insurance in Germany, appropriate travel allowance, a study and research subsidy as well as rent subsidies and/or allowances for spouses and/or children where applicable.

Prior to their study programmes, all scholarship holders will also receive a 6- months German language course. Participation is mandatory.

Italian Government Scholarship 2022-2023

The Italian government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) offers grants in favor of foreign citizens and Italian citizens living abroad (IRE) for the academic year 2022-23 in order to foster international cooperation in cultural, scientific and technological fields, to promote Italian language and culture and to support Italy’s economic system in the world (according to Law 288/55 and its subsequent changes and additions).

Grants are offered to complete study master’s degree courses and research/training programs in public or legally recognized Italian educational institutions.

  • Amount:

All candidates will be exempt from tuition fees.

The exemption is not applied for Italian language and culture advanced courses, for which the payment of registration and tuition fees is required.

Students will receive a monthly allowance of €900.00 on a quarterly basis, which will be paid into his/her Italian bank account.

Students will be covered by a health and medical insurance, contracted by MAECI, in case of illness or accident. The insurance is valid exclusively for the duration of the grant.

Rhodes Scholarships at Oxford University

The Rhodes master’s degree Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting exceptional all-round students at the University of Oxford. Established in the will of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, the Rhodes is the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious international scholarship program in the world.

  • Amount:

A Rhodes master’s degree Scholarship covers all University and College fees, a living stipend (£17,310); settling in allowance, health insurance, visa, two economy class flights – to and from the UK – for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.

The basic tenure of the scholarship is two years, subject always, and at all times, to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct.

  • Eligibility:

The following eligibility criteria apply to all applicants for the Rhodes master’s degree Scholarships:

• Citizenship & residency: Each applicant must fulfil the citizenship and residency requirements of the Rhodes constituency for which they are applying.

• Age:  On 1 October 2022, you must be at least 18 and have not reached your 25th birthday (i.e. you must have been born after 1 October 1997 and on or before 1 October 2004)

OR (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual)

On 1 October 2022, you must not have reached your 27th birthday (i.e. have been born after 1 October 1995) AND you have met or will meet the academic requirements for completing your first degree on or after 1 July 2021*

• Education: All applicants must have achieved academic standing sufficiently advanced to assure completion of a bachelor’s degree by the October following election. Academic standing must be sufficiently high to ensure admission to the University of Oxford, which has very competitive entry requirements, and to give confidence that Rhodes Scholars will perform to a high academic standard in Oxford. Individual constituencies may specify a 1st or equivalent.  Some constituencies require an undergraduate degree to have been taken within the constituency of application.

Rhodes Global Scholarships

Until recently, the Rhodes master’s degree Scholarships have only been awarded in 20 constituencies (representing over 60 different countries). Now the Rhodes Scholarships are fully global: two new Global master’s degree Scholarships allow eligible candidates from the rest of the world to apply (subject to nomination). Rhodes Global Scholarship is looking for outstanding young leaders who are motivated to engage with global challenges and to promote international understanding and peace.

  • Amount:

A Rhodes master’s degree Scholarship covers all University and College fees, a living stipend (£17,310); settling in allowance, health insurance, visa, two economy class flights – to and from the UK – for the beginning and end of studies in Oxford.

The basic tenure of the scholarship is two years, subject always, and at all times, to satisfactory academic performance and personal conduct.

Eligibility:

a. Nationality/citizenship: You may only apply to the Global master’s degree Scholarships if you are not eligible to apply via any existing Rhodes constituency. If you have a strong connection to one or more Rhodes constituency but do not meet their eligibility criteria you should also consider inter-jurisdictional consideration rather than the Global Scholarship

b. Age:

You must meet either of the below criteria:

i. On 1 October 2022, you must be at least 18 and have not reached your 24th birthday (i.e. you must have been born after 1 October 1998 and on or before 1 October 2004).

OR (for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual)

ii. On 1 October 2022, you must not have reached your 27th birthday (i.e. have been born after 1 October 1995) AND you have met or will meet the academic requirements for completing your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2021*

c. Academic achievement: You must have already completed, or will have completed by July 2023, an undergraduate degree (normally a Bachelor’s degree) with an academic background and grade that – at a minimum – meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of your chosen full-time course at the University of Oxford.

Given the very intense international competition for places at the University of Oxford, candidates will have a greater chance of successful admission to Oxford if they have a First Class Honours Degree or equivalent or a GPA of 3.70/4.0 or higher.

d. English language: You must have a sufficiently high standard of English to meet the English language proficiency requirements (at the Higher Level listed) of the University of Oxford.

e. If unsuccessful in your first application to the Rhodes Scholarships, you may subsequently re-apply only once more (and this must be in the same constituency), subject to meeting the eligibility criteria

University of Sussex Chancellor’s Scholarships

University of Sussex Chancellor’s International Scholarships are available in the majority of Sussex Schools, and are awarded on the basis of academic performance and potential to international and EU students who have applied for and been offered a place for eligible full-time Master’s degrees at the University of Sussex.

  • Amount: £5,000

Eligibility:

To be eligible for this master’s degree scholarship you must:

• be classified as overseas for fee purposes.

• have accepted a place on a full time eligible Master’s degree, commencing at the University of Sussex in September 2022.

• have excellent academic grades (UK first class or equivalent).

Castagra Roofing Scholarship Program 2022

The Castagra Roofing master’s degree Scholarship Program was developed to support individuals pursuing a career in roofing (or a similar field), who are passionate about innovation and/or sustainability.

  • Amount: The selected recipient will receive a $1000 USD award. Awards are not renewable, but applicants may reapply to the program each year that they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Eligibility:

Applicants to the Castagra Roofing master’s degree Scholarship Program must be:

  • Pursuing a post-secondary education in college or vocational programs in roofing or a similar field. Similar field must be applicable to the building industry (construction, waterproofing, etc.)
  • Passionate about innovation and/or sustainability
  • An American or Canadian citizen or permanent resident
