Google Scholarships: Google believes that information should be universally accessible. Google education and scholarship programs aim to inspire and help students become future leaders in computing and technology by breaking down the barriers that prevent them from entering these fields.

Therefore, Google provides scholarships to encourage students of various backgrounds, genders, and ethnicities to excel in their studies through the following scholarships:

1. Generation Google Scholarship

Google offers Generation Google scholarships for underrepresented minorities majoring in computer engineering, computer science, or related major. May be used toward graduate or undergraduate degree. Applicants who are part of groups historically excluded from the technology industry, including Women, Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, American Indian, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship Amount: multiple scholarships of $10,000.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD program at an accredited university or college in the United States or Canada for the next academic year. Note – current high school seniors, those not attending college and current college students are all eligible.
  • Be studying computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field
  • Demonstrate a strong academic record
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for improving representation of underrepresented groups in computer science and technology

2. Google Lime Scholarship

Google offers Google Lime scholarships for persons with disabilities who are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, computer engineering or a degree in a closely related technical field.

Scholarship Amount: multiple scholarships of $10,000.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Have, or consider themselves to have, a visible or invisible disability
  • Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university for the current academic year
  • Plan to enroll as a full-time student at a college or university in the United States or Canada for the upcoming school year
  • Maintain a strong academic performance
  • Be pursuing a degree in computer science, computer engineering or a degree in a closely related technical field
  • Exemplify leadership and demonstrate passion for computer science and technology.

Google Scholarships for International Students

3. Google Student Veterans of America Scholarship

Google offers Google Student Veterans of America Scholarships for veterans who are pursuing a college degree in computer science, computer engineering or a degree in a closely related technical field.

Scholarship Amount: multiple scholarships of $10,000.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university
  • Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student at a university in the United States for the upcoming academic year
  • Maintain a strong academic performance
  • Majoring in computer science or computer engineering, or a major in a closely related technical field
  • A current student veteran (including members of the National Guard or Reserve) as shown by a DD-214 and transcript, or a student on Active Duty as proven by submission of Active Duty orders and a Memorandum of Understanding from your commanding officer indicating that you are currently in good standing with your unit and transcript
  • Has received an honorable discharge, or is in good standing with his/her branch of military service.

4. Doodle for Google Scholarship

Google offers Doodle for Google Scholarship, an annual art contest open to students in grades K-12.

Scholarship Amount: 1 national winner received $30,000 college scholarship and award of $50,000 technology package for their school/non-profit organization; 4 national finalists receive $5,000 college scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a student K-12 at U.S. based school (including homeschool) or a school in Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands, or children of military personnel abroad.
  • Students may create a Doodle using any medium or materials
  • Note: Parents, teachers, nonprofits and after school programs are welcome to enter artwork on behalf of students K-12.

Google Scholarships for High School Seniors

5. Google Conference Scholarship

Google offers the Google Conference Scholarships program to expose career opportunities to those who identify as historically excluded in tech. This includes those who identify as Women, Black/African American/Caribbean/WestIndies, Hispanic/Latinx, and Native American/First Nations.

Scholarship Amount: varies.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Have a strong academic and/or professional background with demonstrated leadership ability
  • Be able to attend the core day(s) of one of the conferences (either virtually or in-person)
  • Are (1) a resident of North America and US Territories, (2) studying or working in North America, or (3) will be in North America at the time of the conference
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
