IREX Community Program in America
The Cultural Exchange Program, supported by the US Department of State in partnership with IREX, aims to harness expertise, skills and resources to develop various sectors and establish healthy and cooperative societies in more than 100 countries.
This program strengthens the capabilities of young leaders in civil society by providing strong networking opportunities online and during their visits to America, and includes providing statements on social issues such as sustainable development, civil dialogue, peace, diversity, and youth participation.
The main goal of the program is to empower the new generation and qualify them to be decision-makers through leadership and community activities, and to provide them with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to contribute effectively to the world.
In addition, the program focuses on developing the full capabilities of civil society leaders and community organizations by deepening their knowledge and strengthening their leadership skills.

IREX Community Program in America Details:
- Travel for three months in the USA: During this period, participants work on issues related to their home communities and gain field experiences.
- Participants are trained in leadership and enhance their leadership capabilities through workshops and interactive sessions.
- Participants undergo intensive training to implement a project aimed at improving the conditions of their communities once they return to their countries.
- Participants have the opportunity to improve their language skills through English Language Exchange Programs.

Eligibility Criteria of IREX Community Program in America
- Age between 21 to 27 years.
- You must be a citizen of one of the countries targeted for the scholarship.
- At least two years of experience in volunteer work.
- You must reside and work in your country of origin, with exceptions for refugees.
- Strong English speaking and writing skills, with the need for proof of proficiency (such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo) if you advance to the semi-finals.
- Commitment to return to your home country to implement the project and stay for two years after the program.
- No problems obtaining a US J-1 visa.
- Neither you nor any of your family members must work for IREX.
