Acceptance requirements for the Islamic Development Bank Scholarship 2023

  • Turkish citizens or those who have lost Turkish citizenship for any reason are not eligible to apply for the program.
  • Graduate applicants must have been born after January 1, 1993.

  • The scholarship program includes university tuition fees, general health insurance, round-trip travel tickets, Turkish language training (TÖMER), monthly stipends, and housing support.
  • Cash housing support will be provided to students in the academic year 2023-2024, and this amount will be deposited in addition to the monthly stipends into the students’ accounts. No housing arrangements will be made for students under the program. Students must arrange the places they want to live in on their own.
  • Applicants who are already studying in Turkey at the required level are not eligible to apply for the joint program.
  • Applicants should not have any health problems (chronic or infectious) that could hinder their education in Turkey.

How to apply for the Islamic Development Bank Scholarship for international students

  • Before starting to apply, make sure that all the information and documents are ready. The specified documents must be in pdf, jpeg, png, gif formats, and each must not exceed 5 megabytes in size and be clearly readable.

  • All beneficiaries of the Turkish Scholarships – Islamic Development Bank Joint International Scholarship Program who do not have a C1 level Turkish language certificate (including applicants who have been assigned to programs in English or other languages) must attend a one-year Turkish language training course and complete the C1 level by the end of the academic year.

  • Scholarship beneficiaries will receive 350 USD per month for monthly stipends and housing support for undergraduate students, 375 USD for graduate students, and 400 USD for doctoral students.

  • Note: The amount mentioned above includes housing support. The equivalent amount in Turkish lira is transferred to the beneficiaries’ accounts every month.

  • After their employment, graduate beneficiaries are required to repay 50% of the amount of monthly scholarships they received during their studies, in small installments to the local education trust fund (LETF) in the Islamic Development Bank member countries.
