Eligibility for the Mohammed bin Zayed University Artificial Intelligence Scholarship

To apply for the scholarship at MBZUAI, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Obtain a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM field such as computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, mathematics, physics, and other related disciplines from a university accredited or recognized by the Ministry of Education in the UAE.

Obtain a minimum GPA of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent for master’s and doctoral degree applicants.

Obtain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) or equivalent for joint master’s and doctoral degree applicants.

Submit certificates and full transcripts (in English) when submitting applications.

Students in their final year of graduation may apply using their transcripts and expected graduation letter. Upon admission, a completed degree certificate and transcript must be submitted.

English language skill:

Standardized TOEFL iBT test with a minimum score of 90.
IELTS Academic test with a minimum score of 6.5.
EmSAT English with a score of no less than 1550.
TOEFL iBT and IELTS Academic certificates are valid for two (2) years, while EmSAT scores are valid for eighteen (18) months.

Applicants from the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand who have completed their studies from Kindergarten to Bachelor’s degree may be exempt from English language test requirements.

A valid General Test Certificate for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional for Master’s and Doctoral applicants, and mandatory for combined Master’s and Doctoral applicants with the following minimum scores

For joint master’s and doctoral applicants with the following minimum grades:

150 in verbal reasoning
150 in quantitative logic
3.0 in Analytical Writing
