The 2024 AIML Residency Program | The Apple AIML Residency, which lasts for one year, is for graduates with advanced degrees and aims to encourage broad collaboration between different fields.

The program provides an opportunity for experts from diverse fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as well as researchers and engineers new to the field of machine learning, to work together to develop innovative machine learning techniques, products, and experiments powered by artificial intelligence.

During the year-long residency, participants gain hands-on experience as part of an AIML team, working on high-impact projects that may change the future of Apple products and features. Participants also have the opportunity to learn from Apple educators, collaborate with other fellows in the program, publish their research at leading scientific conferences, attend technical and leadership courses from Apple and external sources, conduct independent research, and collaborate with Apple’s R&D teams.

Who is eligible to apply?

Master’s graduates.
Recent PhD graduates and postdoctoral researchers.
Software and hardware engineers who want to collaborate with research or machine learning teams.
Academics who want to take study leave to focus on work or research in the machine learning industry.
Prospective professors who want to gain industry experience.

Educational requirements for the program include either a graduate degree in a STEM field or equivalent industry experience in software engineering.

The Apple AIML Residency is a one-year program, starting in July 2024. Residents must commit to full-time work (40 hours per week) from July 15, 2024 through July 11, 2025.
