Young Experts Program 2024
The WIPO Young Experts Programme aims to develop future leaders in the field of intellectual property worldwide, with the aim of building effective innovation systems in countries around the world.
During the two-year programme, ten outstanding young people will participate in direct projects supervised by the Organisation, where the programme provides practical experience in the technical and strategic aspects of intellectual property. This experience enables participants to acquire skills and knowledge that contribute to driving economic growth in their countries.
The Young Experts Programme is not just a means to obtain a job at the Organisation, but rather a programme that aims to develop leaders capable of making a real difference around the world. Therefore, participants are not allowed to apply for jobs within the Organisation during the programme or for two years after its completion.

Benefits of Young Experts Program
- Monthly salary of CHF 5,000.
- Coverage of up to 50% of health insurance costs.
- Accident insurance.
- Contribution to travel costs.
- Support from WIPO for obtaining a visa to Switzerland.
- Advice from WIPO staff advisors on settlement and residence in Switzerland.

Eligibility Criteria for Young Experts Program
- Applicants must not be older than 35 years at the time of application.
- The programme is available for 24 months during the period 2025-2026.
- Applicants must have a first-level university degree.
- At least two years of relevant experience.
- Excellent analytical, research and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge in innovation and/or creativity.
