Eligibility Criteria for the Romania Government Scholarships
To apply for the 2024 Romanian Government Scholarship, the following conditions must be met:
- Only applicants from outside the European Union are eligible.
- Citizens of European Union countries, Romanian citizens, and people who have requested protection in Romania are not eligible.
- Applicants must not be older than 35 years for the Master’s program and 45 years for the PhD programme.
- Applicants must have a degree from a previous educational program.
- It is necessary to have an outstanding academic record with a grade of no less than 7 according to the evaluation system in Romania or a good grade.
- Applicants for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees must undergo a one-year preparatory language course.
- Doctoral applicants are required to pass an entrance examination as part of the selection process.
Note: The scholarship does not include medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy programs.

Documents Required for Romania Government Scholarships
- Updated CV
- Two recent passport size photographs
- A copy of the first three pages of the passport to prove identity and nationality.
- The form must be filled out accurately and according to the instructions.
- A legal copy of the birth certificate, which must be translated into English or Romanian if necessary.
- An official letter from the diplomatic mission of the country of origin confirming support for the application.
- Application form for issuing an acceptance letter to study in Romania: a necessary step within the application process.
- Copies of diplomas/degrees or equivalent: including Bachelor’s, Master’s, with translation into English or Romanian.
- Certified medical certificate: proving that the applicant is free of any infectious disease or any other medical condition that prevents study.
