SI Leader Lab

SI Leader Lab is a leadership initiative geared toward civil society leaders in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, for those seeking to explore new collaboration methods and innovative tools.
This program is your opportunity to enhance your leadership capabilities, develop your organization’s awareness initiatives, and exchange experiences within a network of motivated colleagues.
The program offers a mix of online workshops within regional and cross-regional learning groups, as well as providing ongoing training support.

In October, the 100 participants meet in Stockholm for an intensive week of field learning, deepening the educational experience and strengthening their bonds.

SI Leader Lab Benefits

Financial support from the Swedish Institute includes:

Full coverage of flight costs to and from Stockholm.
Providing accommodation and meals during meetings in Stockholm, Sweden.
Comprehensive insurance during the on-site meeting period.
Obtain all training materials necessary to participate in the program, whether online or on-site.

Eligibility requirements

To apply to the SI Leader Lab program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
You must hold a leadership position in a civil society organization or network working towards achieving Goal 16 of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda, including but not limited to work in the areas of peace and security, equality and inclusion, transparency and anti-corruption, accountability, access Free information, safety of media.
You must work within a team and exercise a leadership role, whether formal or informal.
You must be between 25 and 45 years old, i.e. born between 1978 and 1999.
You must have a good working knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.
You must be a citizen of one of the following countries: Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine, or Yemen.
You must be available to participate in all parts of the program and ready to apply the knowledge, skills and tools you gain in your team and organization.
Participants must be prepared to apply what they learn in the program to enhance the effectiveness of their team and organization.
No exceptions can be made to any of the eligibility requirements.

How to apply ?

Register your profile on the application portal. This requires you to enter your basic details to create an account through which you can place your order.
Among the programs available on the portal, select “SI Leadership Lab” as the program you would like to apply to, which will be available in the specified period from February 12 to March 12, 2024.
Answer all questions related to the different sections of the application portal, which you can find in the left side menu. Make sure to provide comprehensive and accurate answers for each section.
Upload your CV within the documents section of the portal. Make sure your resume is up to date and reflects your experience and leadership skills.
After completing your application, you will receive a confirmation message in your inbox on the Dream Apply platform. This confirms that your order has been received successfully.
You will receive another message in your inbox on the Dream Apply platform containing a link to record a short video. You must follow the enclosed instructions to record video in a quiet place, preferably using headphones with a built-in microphone. Registration is required and must be completed in less than ten minutes, with two questions answered within two minutes each.
Evaluation of applications (13 March – 14 April)

Admission (15 April)

SI will contact the 100 selected applicants by email to offer them a place in the programme. SI will also compose a list of reserve candidates in case a second selection round is needed. Unfortunately, because of the large number of applications for a limited number of spots, we have to turn down many highly-qualified people who apply to the programme.
